A team is stronger together! So why not share your race schedules with your fellow teammates and invite them to join you? You are all doing such a great job motivating and cheering each other on at your events! Don’t forget to keep the team camaraderie up and share your stories and races with each other on the Aquaphor community page! By now, most if not all of you have registered for the 2011 Aquaphor le Tour Challenge! So if you have, keep pedaling! There are two weeks left to get your miles in! If you have not registered but are planning to, be sure to register now on Map my Ride for the official Team Aquaphor. Test yourself by taking the challenge, which virtually mirrors the real Tour de France stage by stage!

This month we are trying something new! Since you are all doing such an amazing job sending in your race recaps, we wanted to raise the stakes a bit… We will award the top 2 Aquaphor athletes who have submitted the most race recaps from the start of the sponsorship through August 2nd with a $50 gift card! Did you do a Firecracker 5k in your Aquaphor gear? Or how about another summer race? We’ll count the recaps and announce the winners in the August eNewsletter.

About Greg: Greg has been married to his high school sweetheart for 35 years. He has three children and two grandchildren. He recently retired after 34 years as an air traffic controller. Greg started running as a way to relieve stress from his job. His first marathon was in 1999 and has since run 26 marathons, including the Boston Marathon 3 times. Greg started competing in triathlons 4 years ago and ran his first half Ironman race last year. He hopes to complete his first full Ironman in 2012. Greg is amazed and inspired hearing his fellow Team Aquaphor teammates’ stories and thrilled to be a member of Team Aquaphor. Greg, keep up the great work representing Team Aquaphor!

About Cristie: This is Cristie’s second year on Team Aquaphor. Cristie is a mother of two children, a wife, a full time employee and an athlete. There is a special balance required to focus her attention on each of these aspects of her life. She strives to influence her children, her husband, her friends, family and her co-workers to lead healthier lives. She coached her daughter and 10 other neighborhood kids through their first Triathlon in 2009 and influenced many others to try their first 5K. In 2006, Cristie was diagnosed with Malignant Melanoma. She participates in fundraisers to help raise awareness for the cause, most recently competing at Eagleman 70.3 and raising nearly $1500. She loves helping others and most recently volunteered at an event raising money for the victims of the Joplin, MO tornado. Cristie, your story inspires us all. Thank you for sharing and being a part of Team Aquaphor!
